SurviveHER founder Lyndsay Levingston was diagnosed in 2019 with an aggressive subtype of breast cancer. She knows firsthand how difficult it is to go to war with the disease, but after 15 rounds of chemotherapy, she came out victorious. She shares part of her story below and a list of items friends and family can combine to create a thoughtful care package full of keepsakes for the one they love.

Lyndsay Levingston is a multi-hyphenate media personality, researcher, and segment producer for “The Black News Channel” and an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She is the founder of SurviveHer, a nonprofit focused on giving hope to breast cancer survivors. Levingston joined “Health IQ” to discuss her journey and the work she’s doing through her nonprofit.

Breast cancer “SurviveHER” pushes preventative care
Lyndsay Levingston never thought that being a breast cancer survivor would be a part of her life story.
The Houston native and founder of the breast cancer awareness and wellness platform SurviveHER, lived a healthy lifestyle and enjoyed the fruits of her labor as an accomplished broadcast media professional in New York City, but in July 2019, the life that she once knew completely changed forever.

Harris led the conversation with SurviveHER founder Lyndsay Levingston, Black Heart Association Founder Tara Robinson, and Head of US ESG Strategy, Ops & Partnerships, Martin Hamlette. Hamlette, a diversity leader for Novartis, shared more on the company’s initiatives, such as Healthy Zip Codes, to reduce health disparities that impact minorities most.
